The Launch of ThinkMarkets’ Proprietary Trading Brand

ThinkMarkets’ Proprietary Trading Brand

ThinkMarkets has launched ThinkCapital, a new brand for proprietary trading. While the official announcement is still coming, the ThinkCapital website is already online. This shows the broker’s plan to enter this competitive market.

Growing Trend of Brokers Entering Prop Trading

ThinkMarkets, based in Australia, has joined the growing number of forex and CFDs brokers offering prop trading and funded trading services. This trend began with Axi, OANDA, and Hantec Markets, and later included IC Markets, Traders Trust, and Trade.com.

IC Markets, for example, provides prop trading services through TC Systems FZE, a UAE-registered company that started last month. ThinkCapital offers simulated trading services and educational tools, not actual market trading, similar to its peers.

Additionally, ThinkCapital, like other prop trading services, only offers simulated trading and educational tools. Interestingly, only Axi allows its funded traders to trade in live markets. Meanwhile, OANDA uses its traders as signal generators and executes the trades itself in live markets based on its risk management strategies.

European Traders Welcomed

ThinkCapital’s services are more flexible than other brands, allowing traders from European countries except Croatia. However, ThinkMarkets’ prop trading brand does not offer services to traders in the United States.

ThinkMarkets has been providing services to other prop trading brands for some time. They offer price data for various asset classes, an admin dashboard, and CRM. They also license their proprietary trading platform, ThinkTrader, to prop firms. The broker used to grey-label its MetaTrader license to prop firms, but the current website no longer mentions MetaTrader.

Currently, ThinkCapital offers prop trading on MetaTrader 5 and plans to add ThinkTrader. The website also states that their prop trading services will integrate TradingView, allowing traders to trade directly from TradingView charts.

Bottom Line

Entering into proprietary trading business, launching ThinkCapital is an important milestone for ThinkMarkets. Like other competitors, it offers simulated trading and educational tools but not actual market trading. The company also allows traders from most European countries except the US. In addition to this, ThinkMarkets remains committed to offering services such as price data and trading platforms to other prop trading brands.
